“With each iteration Kiyomi heard what I was saying and even if I couldn't come up with the exact wording she would come back with a spot on option. When we finally met in person it was like welcoming an old friend into my home.”

Our Process

Great design is the result of hundreds of well-considered decisions.

Our process provides the structure and flexibility needed to guide those decisions with clarity from start to finish.

  • We begin by understanding how you want the space to feel and function—how it should support the way you live or work day to day. From there, we establish the creative direction, define priorities, and align on budget, scope, and timeline so the project moves forward with confidence.

  • With the concept approved, we translate the vision into a complete design plan. We refine layouts, make key selections, and develop a cohesive palette across finishes and materials—ensuring every decision supports the whole.

  • As the project moves into execution, we remain closely involved to protect the design and keep details on track. We coordinate with your build team, provide drawings and specifications, and guide time-sensitive decisions as they arise—so progress stays aligned and forward-moving.

  • This is where everything comes together. We curate furnishings, lighting, textiles, and finishing details, then oversee delivery and installation so your home feels complete, cohesive, and ready to live in.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The timeline is tailored to the scope and complexity of your project. For full home builds, the process can span one to two years from early planning through final installation. We’ll outline a clear timeline at the start and keep you informed as the project progresses.

  • The earlier, the better. We’re often involved during the initial planning phase, collaborating with your architect and builder to shape the home from the ground up. That said, we’re happy to step in at any stage and will meet you where you are in the process.

  • That’s completely expected. Many of our clients come to us without a fully formed vision. Part of our role is to help you clarify what you’re drawn to, define what feels right for your home, and translate that into a cohesive design direction.

  • Our studio is based in historic Manhattan, Montana, and we serve the Gallatin Valley—including Bozeman, Big Sky, Belgrade, and Livingston—as well as clients throughout Montana and the Rocky Mountain West.

  • The first step is a consultation. From there, we’ll learn more about your project, walk you through how we work, and determine whether it feels like the right fit to move forward together.
